Lois Welch joined the Town & Country Fire District in 1988 as a volunteer, at that time she was a basic EMT. In 1994 Lois went on to get her intermediate EMT. In 1996 Lois was appointed assistant chief in charge of EMS for the Fire District. Not only is she an EMT-I she holds a Firefighter Level 2 certificate, fire safety inspector, assistant fire instructor, CE instructor for EMS and is a CPR and first aid instructor.

Lois has been instrumental in the growth of the Wayne County Regional Fire School. She has served on the committee for eleven years, Lois has served in every capacity possible including Fire School Committee Chairperson. Her attention to detail and organization has made the County Fire School run smoothly and efficiently.

Because of her years of dedication, Lois was honored by the Wayne County Fire and Rescue Association when she was named Firefighter/EMT of the year in 1997. Lois also served as Vice President of the Wayne County Fire & Rescue Association for eleven years.

Lois became the first full time employee of the Town & Country Fire District in 1997 and was named Firefighter/EMT of the year for the Fire District on 2007. She is also the District�s fiscal officer.

Additionally, Lois serves on the Beaverson EMS Foundation Advisory Board and the Wayne County Schools Career Center Fire & EMS Advisory Board.

When Lois is not spending all her time at the fire department, she enjoys spending time with her husband Dave, who is also on the fire department. Lois has two adult sons; Brian and Dave Jr., both of which are in the fire service. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughters Emily and Aubrie.
